to the guy who fucks immortal tech, can you tell me how the president (or any other government official, for that matter) does have “control over aspects of the economy,” as you put it? cuz i don’t see that happening, at least not the kind of control from which the general public would benefit. which is what Tech is talking about.
it might be possible in some other countries, but certainly not in the US of A. the “economy” has a whole bunch of lobbyists in DC whose only job it is to stuff the politicians’ pockets with good, dirty money just so they don’t even think about exercising any control over the economy, let alone actually do it. some people call it a pay raise, others call it bribery, i call it see-no-evil-hear-no-evil money.
now george the bush did exercise control over the economy in the only way possible. that bitch went to war. but only for his own personal profit and that of his “friends,” not the country’s. fuck, “The Dick” cheney was goddam CEO of halliburton for five years, the company that now profits the most from this bullshit war in iraq.
and what’s the profit for the ordinary folk living in the states? what do they “gain” from this war? what do they get? they get shit. matter of fact, they send their own children out to iraq to “fight for democracy” (which is an oxymoron, you can’t “fight” for democracy) only to have them killed by a car bomb or whatever and sent back home in a fuckin tin casket. cuz those caskets ain’t made of wood. what you see on tv is just for show. so what do people get? dead children and a fuckin tin can. by the way, it’s mostly families from the lower classes, especially from the african-american and latino communities, who send their kids to war. those folks who already were off the worst are now completely fucked. and that’s not to speak of the disastrous losses of the iraqi people.

you say communism, socialism, che guevara etc. have caused a lot of harm. you’re right on the mark. but that “harm” is nothing compared to what capitalism and capitalist countries have done to this world. fuck, capitalism probably killed and harmed more people than the hitler and stalin tyrannies put together.
if there is anything that is bad for a society, it’s money combined with greed. and america surely is the greediest of them all.

Little bro, the people who defend our liberty kill people up there in Iraq. In the French Revolution, hell, a lot of people were killed. To fund this nation? Even without solid reasons! It’s been a fact that through history to take control of a nation or a system of hierarchy that’s oppressing you you’ve had to kill people. Or do you expect them to hand you the power? Fidel Castro overthrew a government that had people working as slaves, did you expect him to do it throwing flowers around? Che was a revolutionary and he gave up his life for his ideals (whether they are flawed or not) the people he killed, he killed them because they were in the way for what’s best for the community. It’s like Fidel said: “I always hear about human rights, but no one ever speaks of the rights of humanity.” The point with the economy was just to talk about the high number of private institutions in the US and to poke a joke at the “It’s the economy, stupid” phrase used during Clinton’s campaign. Man, I’ll bet you’re probably some bitter Cuban that got his house taken away by Fidel and has had his parents bitching about communism throughout his whole life. Or some other type of the “I got owned by capitalism” ex bourgeois that pretends to give a fuck about people when the fact is that they’re just mad cause they lost material wealth.
Which is why in Cuba, after 50 years of “tyranny” none of the opposition that moved to miami have tried to overthrow the government! They’re too damn greedy to do something for the good of someone else
